Trogir is a small historic town on Croatia’s Dalmatian coast, sitting on a tiny island between the mainland and Čiovo. Its old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, packed with narrow stone streets, old buildings, little squares and plenty of history.
We spent a few hours wandering around without much of a plan, taking in the old town, the waterfront and the impressive Cathedral of St Lawrence. Trogir is small enough to explore easily, but there’s enough to keep you stopping for photos around almost every corner.
And, of course, we had to try the famous rafiol. These traditional little pastries are filled with almonds, sugar and citrus, and were the perfect excuse for a coffee stop. Definitely worth trying while you’re there!
We really enjoyed Trogir. It’s pretty, easy to explore and has that lovely mix of history and seaside atmosphere that makes this part of Croatia so appealing.
